The Story
One House,
Two Souls.
At the top of the cobbled streets, where time seems to stand still, Haut-de-Cagnes cultivates its mystique. It is here, on the Castle Square, that a new chapter in local history is being written.
Le Grimaldi by Le Village was born from the meeting of two iconic addresses: the former Le Grimaldi hotel and the Le Village restaurant. The festive spirit and generous cuisine of the Village have been combined with the timeless elegance of the Grimaldi. Under the guidance of Cindy BERGMANN, a passionate hostess, boundaries dissolve to create a single living space.
Known for 14 years as a temple of jazz where enthusiasts gathered for lively evenings, the place retains its legendary conviviality. Here, hospitality is not a profession, it's a heritage. A family spirit reigns, transforming each meal into a moment of sharing, far from the hustle and bustle, in an atmosphere that is both elegant and warm.
"We wanted to create a place where you feel at home, nestled between the history of medieval stones and the gentle lifestyle of the Riviera."
The Montmartre of the French Riviera
At the beginning of the 20th century, when Renoir settled in our town from 1903 until his death in 1919, Cagnes was a peaceful, picturesque village. Attracted by the fame of the Impressionist master, many painters enamored with the Mediterranean light came to settle here. Haut-de-Cagnes then earned its legendary nickname of "Montmartre of the French Riviera," attracting celebrities from the world of arts and entertainment well into the 1960s.
Among the most illustrious who stayed or lived in our cobbled streets were: Amedeo Modigliani, who found inspiration here for his azure landscapes; Chaim Soutine; Foujita; the visual artist Yves Klein; the writer Georges Simenon; Josephine Baker; the cabaret director Suzy Solidor; Georges Ulmer; and Brigitte Bardot.
In the castle square, the atmosphere was electric. The nights were punctuated by the music of Genesis, Barclay James Harvest, and Pink Floyd. Today, people stroll along its sunny terraces, admire the old stones, and soak up its bohemian atmosphere steeped in art and history.

The Terrace
Perched on the famous Place du Château, it offers a timeless escape. Bathed in midday light or softly lit by candlelight in the evening, it's the ideal spot to see and be seen, all while enjoying the gentle breeze from the heights.
The Interior
The former Jazz Room has been transformed into a refined space, blending the charm of the old—exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings—with a contemporary touch. In winter, the atmosphere is hushed, perfect for intimate conversations and leisurely dinners.
The New Room
Following the merger, the former Grimaldi Room has become the beating heart of winter dinners and private receptions. Exposed stone walls and elegant décor create the ideal setting to rediscover the Chef's cuisine.

Wines & The Art of Cocktails
A fine selection to accompany every moment…
The Village's drinks menu offers a selection of wines, sparkling wines, and cocktails designed to extend the experience in an elegant and convivial atmosphere. On the wine front, you'll find some excellent selections: Chablis, Burgundy Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, rosé from Provence, and Pinot Noir from Ardèche.
At the bar, classic cocktails sit alongside fresh creations. Spritz, Mojito, Porn Star Martini, Negroni, or Espresso Martini can be enjoyed at the bar or at a table, in a chic yet relaxed atmosphere.
Events & Private Hire
The Art of Personalized Hosting
Hiring Le Grimaldi by Le Village for a private event means enjoying the privilege of a true family home. Designed to accommodate up to 45 guests, the venue transforms to celebrate your private or professional events (seminars, product launches, etc.).
The Maison's greatest asset lies in the possibility of privatizing the entire estate, including the hotel's five bedrooms. A rare opportunity to extend the festivities.
Events
Through the Seasons
Spring
With the return of warmer weather, the terrace is bathed in light, and the Maison awakens in an atmosphere of renewal. Spring celebrates reunions, long weekends, and moments shared with family and friends. For this occasion, the Chef creates menus dedicated to the season's major events, from Easter to Mother's Day, while an exclusive musical brunch opens this sunny interlude. A luminous season, designed to fully savor the rediscovered charm of Haut-de-Cagnes.
Summer
In summer, the historic soul of the place resurfaces. A former temple of music, Le Village reconnects with its legendary past as a jazz club. From June 26 to September 11, the Place du Château pulsates every Friday evening to the rhythm of a grand summer festival. The Village terrace becomes the most sought-after balcony on the Riviera for experiencing the event. Dining under the stars, facing the musicians, offers a rare experience where the emotion of the stage meets the excellence of the cuisine.
Autumn
When the intensity of summer subsides, autumn reveals another facet of the village, more hushed, more intimate. The upper levels of Haut-de-Cagnes are adorned with coppery reflections, and the Maison returns to a slower pace, in a gentle and enveloping atmosphere. This is the season when the menu evolves towards deeper, more generous, and comforting flavors, in harmony with the light and colors of the moment. An invitation to savor the tranquility, the beauty of the place, and the authenticity of the medieval village.
Winter
In December, the hotel transforms the Place du Château into a truly festive setting. Wooden cabins, transparent bubbles, and twinkling garlands create an enchanting Christmas village against the backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Whether it's a corporate gathering, a celebratory dinner, or a special moment with family, Le Village is a must-visit destination this season. A warm and magical atmosphere awaits you in the heart of the medieval village.
The Hotel
A Timeless Escape
As the terrace lights gently dim, another experience begins. This intimate and exclusive hotel has only five rooms, a rarity that guarantees absolute tranquility and personalized service.
Far from standardized chains, the hotel offers five distinct rooms, each with its own unique ambiance, nestled within the building's historic architecture. Ancient beams, thick walls ensuring coolness and silence, and décor blending authenticity with modern comfort.
The Grimaldi Suite
The Grimaldi Suite offers 28 m² of elegance and serenity, in an intimate and bright setting, accommodating up to three people. It comprises a queen-size bed, a single bed, and a private bathroom.
Its balcony with a sea view extends the experience and opens the living room onto a soothing landscape. It offers all the expected contemporary comforts: air conditioning, television, a dedicated workspace, and Wi-Fi, in a refined and welcoming atmosphere.
