A Festive Community Initiative

Cagnes-sur-Mer — October

The historic village of Haut-de-Cagnes is about to undergo an enchanting transformation. Led by the Le Village restaurant and the Château Le Cagnard hotel, in close partnership with the Cagnes-sur-Mer Town Hall and the Haut-Cagnois Association, a major community decorating project is being launched.

The goal of this wonderful initiative? To bring residents together to transform Haut-de-Cagnes into a warm, flower-filled, and spectacular place, where the spirit of autumn will accompany every stroller along the cobbled streets.

A surge of participatory creativity

Starting Saturday morning, October 10th, the Place du Château will be transformed into a large gathering point. Registered residents can come and collect the materials provided free of charge: no fewer than 500 pumpkins and 500 lanterns donated by Le Village and Le Cagnard.

In addition, the Town Hall has provided impressive landscaping, including 70 small and 30 large straw bales. The floral displays will combine 100 pots available to residents and over 170 plants for public spaces. These will include ball chrysanthemums (burgundy, ochre, and cream), common heathers, pennisetums with coppery flower spikes, heucheras, and trailing ivy.

Iconic locations transformed

Everyone is free to let their imagination run wild and decorate their doorsteps with flowers. Meanwhile, Cindy (Restaurant Le Village) will coordinate the decoration of major historical sites with the help of volunteers. These autumnal displays will enhance the Place du Château, the forecourt of the Notre-Dame de Protection Chapel, the fountain on Rue Denis-Jean Clergue, the steps of the Château, the Town Hall, the Annex Town Hall, the Place du Mûrier, and the Place Emile Wery.

The highlight: Halloween Night

This installation will evolve throughout the month. On October 31st, the hundreds of pumpkins scattered throughout the village will be carved and transformed into lanterns. As night falls, illuminated by their lights, they will give Haut-de-Cagnes a mysterious and deeply festive atmosphere to celebrate Halloween.
