May Day falling on a Friday is the perfect excuse we've all been waiting for to treat ourselves to a long weekend. And at Haut-de-Cagnes, this three-day weekend promises to be simply exceptional.
Between the traditional and very festive May Day Celebration at Haut-de-Cagnes which will kick off the weekend this Friday, and the cultural Sunday with Art Festival, the Place du Château will be buzzing. Restaurant Le Village, located at Cagnes-sur-Mer, is the perfect place to enjoy the spring atmosphere, seasonal homemade cuisine, and live music on the terrace.
Friday, May 1st:
The May Festival
Starting at 10:30 am on Friday, the village transforms into a festive hub for the grand May FestivalThe Provençal atmosphere returns with the famous parade of flower-adorned bicycles, the farandole under the Maypoles, and introductions to the famous square boules game with the Cercle des Amis (Friends' Circle).
The Provençal market will take over the area (socca, honey, tapenade, local crafts) while children enjoy wooden games and creative workshops.
The Event at Restaurant Le Village
In the heart of this lively atmosphere, our terrace becomes your meeting point. Take a seat facing the castle to enjoy the local festivities in complete tranquility.
It's the perfect opportunity to discover our new menu. our kitchen team has created new spring dishes, always authentic and 100% homemade, ideal for enjoying in the sunshine in this decidedly chill atmosphere.
Sunday, May 3rd:
DJ Set on the Terrace & Art Festival
After the energy of Friday and the relaxation of Saturday, Sunday, May 3rd (from 11am to 6pm) will be dedicated to culture with the unmissable event Art FestivalThe medieval streets will be transformed, the doors of artists' studios will open, and admission to the Grimaldi Castle-Museum will be exceptionally free for everyone.
Lunchtime: DJ Set on the Terrace
To make this exceptional day even more special, Le Village is turning up the volume! A DJ will be playing on our terrace starting at 12:00 PM. to liven up your lunch. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of rosé and our homemade cuisine, while soaking up the lively atmosphere of Haut-de-Cagnes before or after your cultural visits.
Family Activities: Watercolor Workshop
The Grimaldi Castle-Museum invites families to discover the traveling painter Alexis Gritchenko. The visit is followed by a wonderful hands-on art workshop focusing on watercolor still lifes.
Times: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. From age 5 (accompanied by an adult). No registration required.
3:30 pm: Musical Sundays
Let yourself be carried away by an exceptional moment in the Great Hall of the Castle (2nd floor). The Ut Musica Poesis company presents: "Invitation to the Journey"A concert full of emotion, featuring voice and piano, with Florence De Lignerolles (piano), Xavier De Lignerolles (tenor), and Marie Cubaynes (mezzo-soprano).

- Recommended parking: In the city center of Cagnes-sur-Mer to avoid traffic jams.
- Shuttle access: The free shuttle bus no. 44 (departing from Square Bourdet / central station) drops you off directly at the square.
- On site: The Planastel paid parking lot remains accessible depending on demand.
